ITIJ UK personality of the year award 2010 winner
How it was judged
We included everyone - from the underwriters, to the claims handlers, to the back office staff sorting out the IT systems. This was your chance to nominate someone who you thought should be rewarded for their hard work and dedication to the industry over the last 12 months. The winner was announced on 13th May 2010 at the Grand Hotel, Brighton during the ITIJ Finale Dinner at the conclusion of International Travel Insurance Conference Domestic 2010.

Fell in to Insurance as I think most of us did. Actually worked to be a Dance Teacher so quite different! Joined Derek Fisher (Claims International Limited) in 1987 as a Claims Handler, from there I joined Home & Overseas in 1989 as a Senior Claims Handler working in Claims, Policy drafting and finishing in Underwriting as Assistant Underwriting Manager. I then went on to become the Underwriting Manager at TIA in 1998 which sadly was closed due to the Norwich Union merger in 2001. Which then brought me to Optimum Underwriting Limited in late 2001 and still here!
